The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is for people who require general awareness of the support autistic people or people with a learning disability may need. It is the government’s preferred and recommended training for health and social care staff and more

It comes in two standardised tiers of blended learning and all Individuals are required to complete this e-learning package regardless of which tier they are required to complete.
In addition, for Tier 1 this should be followed by 1 hour session in a virtual classroom co-facilitated by a person with a learning disability and an autistic person as well as a trainer. For Tier 2, this learning package should be followed by a 1 day face to face training co-delivered a person with a learning disability and an autistic person and trainer.
Staff will undertake Tier 1 or Tier 2 training depending on their role.
