Course overview:

This course will cover what speaking up is and why it is welcome, how to speak up and confidentiality, barriers to speaking up and the role of the Guardian and the NGO.

Learning outcomes:

This course aims to support staff to understand:

  • What speaking up is and why it matters. Help parties understand how you can speak up and what to expect.
  • Increased understanding of what speaking up is and why it’s welcome
  • Understand how to speak up and speaking up confidentiality
  • Increased knowledge of potential barriers to speaking up and the need for all of us to work together to remove these
  • Increased understanding of Freedom to Speak Up Guardians and the National Guardian Office
  • The vision for speaking up in CPFT
  • The expectation of how colleagues should be responded to when they speak up
  • The variety of different ways you can speak up within CPFT
  • The role of Freedom to Speak Up Guardians, what they do and how they can help 
  • How to contact the Guardians/where to find further information about speaking up.
