Overview:

Co-production is something that we often talk about. There is lots of information which defines the meaning of the word but less information on how to do it. This session explores its practical application through the coproduction of the Think Family policy, from the perspective of the people involved in the project - people who have accessed services, CPFT staff members and a member of the CPFT board. This presentation will allow you to hear from all the participants – all of who’s voices are equally as important.

Overview:

The people who use our services bring a unique perspective which is crucial to improving services. How do we ensure that we hear their voices and embed them into improvement projects. Involving people who use our services can seem both easy and impossibly difficult, and many projects with good intentions fail to achieve their initial involvement aspirations. What are the steps that we need to take to involve people and what does good involvement look like?

Overview:

Chris Turner walks us through a situation when a critical operation went wrong, when the decisions were made by hierarchy and not the diverse knowledge of the whole them. He shares his own personal experience of what the team learnt from the impact of the error, immediately and afterwards.

This session explores how the education system re-enforces hierarchy and teaches us that the more senior we are, the more able we are to make wise decisions. The reality is that the views and experiences of many, contribute to a diverse and innovative approach in the NHS, making equity and diversity essential for innovation.

The Health and Social Care, is a complex, volatile, and uncertain world where adaptability and change are necessary. How do we approach change as real teams and sudo teams? How do we approach Wicked Problems with compassion and an open mind?

Chris explores ideas such as how we can feel valued to speak out and share our knowledge, learning from Mid-Staffs, goal alignment, compassionate leadership, personal values and sharing information.
